Waste Management
Kickstart Advisory engaged with a NSW based Waste Management Company in 2012, who had developed a method to recycle degraded food packaging. This company had undertaken Research and Development with a view to creating a methodology around recycling to develop new knowledge. The company undertook a systematic progression of work by undertaking trials and proof of concept to validate their objective.
Kickstart were able to work in conjunction with the client in a proactive manner to build an strong file demonstrating the experiments undertaken to successfully apply the Research and Development Tax Incentive to these projects. The company as a result of this approach Kickstart successfully applied for and were granted circa $500,000 for FY 2013 and 2014 (inclusive).
This rebate of funds spent has allowed the company to build their business and invest further in commercialising their development.
Manufacturing
Kickstart Advisory met with a NSW based Organic Juice Company who had embarked on a project developing 100% organic smoothies. The juice company worked closely with Kickstart to ensure that they documented their experimentation and the outcomes to qualify for the Research and Development Tax Incentive.
As the company were looking to create new knowledge and complied the AusIndustry protocols they were able to receive a return of circa $85,000 which has allowed them to continue refining their project to build a commercially viable product. This project will continue in various forms in the coming years and Kickstart will continue to work co-operatively with the company to receive this ongoing benefit.
